GREGGS have been lined up as the operator of a new drive-thru cafe in Greenock.
The bakery chain will run the outlet at a site beside the A8 on Arthur Street, at the corner of Cartsburn Street and Rue End Street.
Planning permission was given in September 2021 for a drive-thru food and drink development on the land.
Revised drawings for a Greggs cafe were later approved by Inverclyde planning officials.
A building warrant to allow construction to begin has now been sought from Inverclyde Council.
Work is also underway on a second drive-thru — for Starbucks — on the A8 at Cartsdyke Roundabout.
