A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Greenock.
Emergency services were called to Belville Street on Friday night following the incident in which a dog was also hit.
The pedestrian, a 28-year-old man, was taken to hospital then later released. The dog, which he had been walking, died at the scene.

Police confirmed today that a 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with alleged attempted murder and an animal welfare offence.
He was due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court today.
