ACCLAIMED Theatre Show Comes To The Beacon Ahead Of London Run

BEACON Arts Centre will this week host two special performances of the critically-acclaimed theatre show ‘Interiors’ before it moves to the London stage.

The multi-award-winning show, by Glasgow-based theatre production company Vanishing Point, has wowed critics, attracting many five-star reviews.

It begins with friends gathering for a meal on a winter’s night, during which secrets and lies are exposed and mysteries unfurl beyond the stage.

Vanishing Point artistic director Matthew Lenton’s original staging of Interiors premiered in 2009 and has toured across Europe, Asia and South America.

The performances at the Beacon on Thursday and Friday night, both at 7.30, present an opportunity to see previews of a major show before it moves to London’s Barbican theatre as part of the London International Mime Festival next month.

They also mark the return of live shows at the Greenock venue’s main theatre after four weeks of Scottish Government covid protective measures designed to prevent the spread of Covid.

Last week the Beacon released extra tickets for the two shows following the government’s announcement that restrictions were being lifted, allowing all theatres and concerts to return to full capacity.

Pauline Kane, director of Beacon Arts Centre, said: “We’re delighted to welcome audiences back to our main theatre from Thursday night with two special performances of Vanishing Point’s Interiors.

“It promises to be a spectacular show and presents an opportunity for Inverclyde residents to see this major production before it hits the London stage.”
