INVERCLYDE is to receive £1.5million as part of the UK Government’s Pride in Place Impact Fund.
To address immediate local issues, the UK fund is providing £150 million to up to 95 places across England, Scotland and Wales to help high streets prosper, develop public spaces and enable communities to flourish.
The Impact Fund is intended to be hyper-local and encourage local people to be part of the decisions that shape their own communities.

Leader of Inverclyde Council, Councillor Stephen McCabe said: “This announcement is most welcome and is another valuable opportunity for communities across Inverclyde to have their say on how to improve their local environment.
“We want our neighbourhoods to be vibrant and inclusive and hope that people engage with the programme to strengthen connections, create opportunities for cultural activity and help small businesses thrive.”
The fund will be run over a two-year period starting this financial year. Following national guidance, the council will work alongside stakeholders to identify projects.
