A SCALED-down version of the annual Clyde swim has taken place.

Three swimmers took part completing a distance of three kilometres at Greenock.

The event was limited to members of the Royal West of Scotland Amateur Boat Club (RWSABC) because of Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.

The swimmers started at the Royal West beach heading along the river beside the Esplanade as far as Fox Street before turning back.

The fastest was Gerard Malone, above, with a time of 0:49:33. Ally Robb was second on 57:40, followed by Colin Campbell on 59:40.

Safety cover was provided by four boat club members in kayaks.

The event was organised by Joe Hefferrnan, RWSABC open water swimming convener. He thanked everyone who helped it a success.
