A DEVELOPER is seeking permission to build detached homes in Quarrier’s Village.

Berkley Homes Ltd want to build nine houses on the site of the former Carsemeadow School on Craigbet Road.

Seven of the properties would have five bedrooms and the other two would have four bedrooms.

A marketing report included with the planning application states: “Over the last five years, the largest proportion of property sales in Quarrier’s Village has been made up of mid-sized, detached family homes with sale prices that range from £340,000 to £450,000.”

Design documents state: “The proposed development looks to minimise the amount of existing trees to be removed to preserve the mature tree setting around Quarriers Village.

“The most notable tree to be removed is along Craigbet Road however a new line of trees and landscaping is proposed behind the existing stone wall which will create and maintain a boulevard of trees along the main road through Quarrier’s Village.”

The application is pending assessment by Inverclyde Council planners.
