Inverclyde Now Logo PLAN For Stables And House In Countryside Near Kilmacolm

17 July, 2020 | Local, Planning

INVERCLYDE officials are being asked to approve a house and livery stables at Kilmacolm.

The development is proposed for land at Blacksholm Road, north Of Slates Farm, near Balrossie House.

There is already an agricultural shed at the site in relation to a flock of rare Zwartble sheep which was established in 2014 with four animals and is now 40-strong.

The flock’s owners say they need to live at the site because the expanding flock requires daily attention.

An equestrian arena was created at the site in the last few years and the livery stables would be run in conjunction with that.

The application is seeking permission in principle for the development; if approved, detailed plans would need to be submitted.
