A 24-YEAR-old man has been charged with numerous driving and drug charges after being stopped by police in Greenock.

A pro-active patrol pulled over the vehicle in Nelson Street around 6.30pm on Thursday.

Twenty-seven grammes of a substance believed to be herbal cannabis, a quantity of white powder, yet to be identified, and more than £1,800 in cash was recovered.

The driver also allegedly failed a roadside drug test.

He is scheduled to appear at court on a later date.
