MOTOR Neurone Disease Scotland has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon team in Gourock.

The charity provides care and support as well as funding vital research into finding a cure for the disease.

Team members from Amazon in Gourock nominated the charity after taking part in individual fundraising to support a friend living with motor neurone disease.

The donation was made as part of the Amazon in the Community programme.

Lorna Sharples, site leader at Amazon in Gourock, said: “This donation to MND Scotland is a small way to honour a cause close to the hearts of our team members. MND Scotland does important work across the country, and those in our community who rely on their services benefit greatly from the excellent support that it offers.”

Iain McWhirter, head of fundraising at MND Scotland, added: “From all of us at MND Scotland, thank you, Amazon team. We cannot continue our work without kind donations, and this money will go a long way to support those living with MND, especially during COVID-19 when life is more challenging.”
