Friday 7 June -- Riverside Youth Band Summer Concert at 7.30pm in Port Glasgow Town Hall. Tickets priced £5 available from any band member or check the band's website for details -- www.riversideyouthband.co.uk. There is free admission under-12s accompanied by an adult.

Friday 7 June -- Concert By The Wherries Folk Band at 7pm in Lyle Kirk’s Newark Street building in Greenock to raise funds for the Finnart Explorer Scout Unit and participants going on a trip to Estonia. Tickets £10 and a light supper will be provided. Those going are welcome to take their own refreshments (excluding spirits). Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Saturday 8 June -- Sporting Dinner in aid of Ardgowan Hospice, in The Marquee at The Chartroom Restaurant, Kip Marina, Inverkip, from 7.30pm featuring former football player and manager Kevin Keegan and Scotland and British Lions rugby legend Doddie Weir. Saturday 15 June -- Newark Primary School Fun Day from 11am to 3pm at the school in Bridgend Avenue, Port Glasgow. Fun activities including beat the goalie, bouncy castle face-painting, raffles, inflatable chutes, tuck shop and stalls. Tickets from the school office, priced £2 for adults and £1 for children, a family ticket for £5 (Two adults and up to three children.)  Tickets include tea, coffee or juice.
