TALKBACK — Disappointment Over Leisure Facilities Staying Closed

READERS are upset over sports venues which will not be reopening yet.

I hold a membership for the Lady Octavia gym and I’m disappointed that it will not be opening along with the other facilities throughout Inverclyde.

I was told I could use my membership at Ravenscraig or Boglestone if I wish but this defeats the reason I joined my local gym — to avoid a round trip of six miles a day.

Even more disappointing is the fact that the people from Greenock East End are treated with contempt regarding sports facilities.

I think it is ridiculous that the well-used facilities at Port Glasgow swimming pool will not be reopened until next year. Very disappointing
