THE finalists for the Inverclyde Sports Personality Awards for 2019 have been announced, following record voting numbers.

Chris Jewell, for the organisers, said: “We had over 103,000 votes this year, way more than any previous year.
“Congratulations to all the finalists and commiserations to those whose voting numbers were not large enough to get them to the finalist stage.”

Winners will be revealed at the gala awards night on 27 March in Greenock Town Hall. Tickets, which include a drink on arrival, a three-course meal plus tea and coffee, cost £35 and are available from Smith Sports in West Blackhall Street in Greenock, telephone 01475 888555.
