CRICKET -- West Indies Legend To Return To Glenpark
GORDON Greenidge, the legendary West Indian test opening batsman of the 1980s, who was Greenock Professional in 1990 and 1992 is set to make a return to Glenpark on Saturday 14 July when Greenock play Falkland in a Scottish Cup sectional match.
He is over in the UK doing some media work as the current West Indies team play England in a test series and also a number of one day internationals and T20 matches.
Greenidge has kept contact with the club and some of its former players and is planning the visit Glenpark to rekindle some memories as part of the club’s 150th Anniversary celebrations.
