Inverclyde Now Logo PLANNERS Agree To Extend Port Glasgow Flats Approval For Further Three Years

30 October, 2020 | Planning

A BID to keep a long-running Port Glasgow flats plan alive has been backed by council officials.

The development is proposed for the site of fire-damaged premises and a yard last used by a glazier at 3 Highholm Street.

There would be 12 flats with 12 parking spaces on the ground floor.

Inverclyde Council originally agreed to the principle of having flats there in 2013. The council agreed to extend that permission in 2017.

Approval has now been given to renew planning consent again for a further three years.

Officials felt that replacement of the damaged building would be to the benefit of the surrounding area and character in Highholm Street.

An application for detailed planning will also still need to be submitted as designs for the building have yet to be put forward for approval.
