EXTRA Cruise Ship To Visit
GREENOCK Ocean Terminal will welcome a surprise extra cruise ship this week.
MSC Lirica, pictured right, will come to the Clyde on Friday instead of going to Oban. It’s thought the change of plan is based on the weather forecast.
It will be the vessel’s first visit to the river and she is also the first ship operated by MSC Cruises to come to the terminal. In a further boost, MSC Cruises have also chosen the terminal for 2013 with the 93,000-tonne MSC Magnifica booked to call.
The 59,000-tonne MSC Lirica, which can carry around 1,500 passengers, is expected around 9.30am and should leave at 6.30pm, although times often change at short notice.
Her visit means Greenock is having 41 cruise ship visits in 2012.
Tomorrow (Tuesday), two cruise ships are due to visit. More Details
