ATHLETES Swim, Cycle And Run To Success
HARDY athletes competed in Inverclyde Leisure’s triathlon event at Gourock.
Around 90 people took part in the adults’ competition and a children’s duathlon was also held.
The adults had to do 24 lengths of Gourock outdoor pool (half a mile), a 10-mile cycle and a five kilometre run. The children did 12 lengths of the pool and a three kilometre run.
Calum Dyer (15), pictured right, won the duathlon and had done the Clyde Swim on Saturday, coming third overall. Another Clyde swimmer taking part in the children's event was Anna Kane (12) from Gourock.
Organisers said the triathlon was the closest since the event started with David Henderson and Niall McAlindon given joint first place as less than a second separated them.
