PostHeaderIcon PLEA For Nurse To Get In Touch Over Driver Death Inquiry

POLICE investigating the death of a motorist following a road traffic incident at Langbank are keen to speak to a nurse who stopped to help the man.

Billy Brass (54) from North Lanarkshire was driving a black Ford Mondeo car westbound on the A8, near Langbank, around 2pm on Saturday 7 July when he became involved in an altercation with the driver of a white Ford Transit van. Both vehicles stopped on the A8 when Mr Brass got out of his car to speak with the van driver.

Mr Brass was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released later that day. He was then readmitted to hospital on Thursday 26 July where he died on Saturday 28 July.

Road Policing Officers at Greenock are particularly keen to speak to a female nurse who stopped to help ahead of the arrival of emergency services. Anyone else who may have seen either of these vehicles at that time is also asked to come forward.

Anyone with any such information should contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Greenock police office on 01475 492661 or 01475 492537.
