INVERCLYDE Planning Board approved two residential applications, including construction of a house in the grounds of a church.

Councillors agreed that seven detached homes can be built at Renton Road, Greenock.

The site is open ground with rough vegetation on the hillside south of Renton Road beside Dalmoak Road,

The houses will be three storeys high where they front the road and two storeys to the rear.

Meanwhile construction of a two-bedroom single-storey house within the grounds of Grade A listed Holy Family Church, Port Glasgow was approved.

The site fronts Northfield Avenue, sitting between no.54 and the footpath access to the church. A bus stop will have to be moved.
