DEATH Of Driver Involved In Altercation After Crash
POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses following the death of a 54-year-old man who was involved in an altercation after a traffic collision near Langbank earlier this month.
The man was driving a black Ford Mondeo car westbound on the A8 around 2pm on Saturday 7 July, when he became involved in an altercation with the driver of a white Ford Transit van. Both vehicles stopped on the A8 when the Mondeo driver got out of his car to speak with the driver of the Ford Transit van.
The driver of the Mondeo was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released later that day. He was then readmitted to hospital on Thursday 26 July where he died on Saturday.
Road policing officers at Greenock are asking anyone who may have seen either of these vehicles at that time to come forward with any information they may have. Anyone with any such information should contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit on 01475 492661 or 01475 492537.
