SHUTTLE Bus For Olympic Football
A FREE shuttle bus is being provided in Glasgow for Olympic football fans heading to matches at Hampden.
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has arranged the service using buses provided by Citylink which will operate between Buchanan Bus Station, Glasgow and the stadium in Mount Florida.
SPT chairman George Redmond, said: “SPT is delighted to offer a shuttle service to football fans attending Hampden for this once-in-a-lifetime sporting event.
“I urge all spectators looking to enjoy a great day of football to avoid the hassle of trying to park near the venue by hopping on one of our free shuttle buses.”
The service will operate for the following games.
Wednesday 25 July – Women’s preliminary matches: USA v France, Colombia v Korea DPR. These matches start at 5pm and 7.45pm with free shuttle buses in service from 2pm.
Thursday 26 July – Men’s preliminary matches: Spain v Japan, Honduras v Morocco. Matches start at noon and 4.45pm and a free shuttle service bus will start operating at 9am.
Saturday 28 July – Women’s preliminary matches: USA v Colombia, France v Korea DPR. These matches will start at 5pm and 7.45pm and the free shuttle service buses will begin taking fans to the event from 2pm.
Wednesday 1 August – Men’s preliminary match: Egypt v Belarus, match starts at 2.30pm and the free shuttle bus service will start at 11.30am.
Friday 3 August – A women’s quarter final match will kick off at noon and the free shuttle service will take fans there from 9am.
