MAN Assaulted During Robbery Attempt

A MAN was attacked by a teenager who was trying to rob him in Port Glasgow.
The 46-year-old was near his home in Mackie Avenue when the incident happened around 10.50 last night (Sunday)
He was approached by a teenager who demanded money and cigarettes and then struck him on the leg, inflicting a small cut.
The victim refused to hand anything over and the attacker ran off empty-handed.Paramedics treated the injury and the man did not require to go to hospital.
The suspect was wearing a grey hooded top and jogging bottoms. Anyone who saw him is urged to call police on 01475 492500.
