CARDWELL Garden Centre continue their 50th birthday celebrations with a charity barbecue weekend – and they aren’t taking any risks with the weather.

The whole event, on 28/29 July, 11am to 5pm both days, will be indoors.

On Saturday 28 July, the centre on Cloch Road, Gourock, will hold a birthday party, hosting the Weber BBQ Experience cooking demonstration.

There will be free food tastings all day and barbecue food will also be available to buy from Cardwell’s own barbecue team. A selection of food suppliers will also offer free food tastings.

Also on Saturday (28 July) there will be children’s entertainment including a magician, clown, bubble workshop, face-painting and balloon modelling.

There will be traditional Scottish music from Westcoast Sound and a Scout pipe band will feature as will Inverclyde Cat Protection with a competition and their mascot.

Sunday 29 July will be a more relaxed affair with traditional barbecue food from the Cardwell barbecue team. There will be music from the Scouts and Riverside Youth band.

On both days customers can save 10per cent on all barbecues and accessories and there will be dozens of special offers on throughout the store.

All proceeds from the event will be split between charities.
