LANE Closure For Water Main Work On Busy Route
MOTORISTS are being warned of disruption on one of Inverclyde’s busiest roads.
Scottish Water will be using road traffic management on the A78 Inverkip Road in Greenock while work to improve a short stretch of water main is carried out.
Contractors are to upgrade a 190-metre section of pipe starting on 2 July, for about two weeks. The upgrade will help provide clearer, fresher drinking water to properties in the area.
The work will involve a lane closure on the A78 Inverkip Road from the junction with Gateside Avenue at Lady Alice School to just past the Barr’s Cottage roundabout.
Three-way temporary traffic lights will be installed at the junction of Inverkip Road and Gateside Avenue and will be in operation round the clock during the project, and manually from 6.30am to 6.30pm, to help keep traffic flowing.
Scottish Water say they will do everything possible to minimise any disruption and thank affected customers and road users in advance for their patience and co-operation.
