BANK Staff Branch Out At Finlaystone
STAFF from RBS Mortgage Centre in Greenock volunteered to help at a conservation day at Finlaystone Estate, Langbank.
RBS organiser Joan Diamond said: ‘Around 20 of us from RBS Mortgage Centre, Greenock went to Finlaystone to help where we could around the estate. Replanting trees wasn’t quite what we were expected as a task for the day. However, once in the fields with our mallets in hand, we took a deep breath and began what became a very therapeutic and enjoyable day as the sun shone on us while we worked in what can only be described as movie scene settings of beautiful countryside.

“I must say that the physical side of this job was exhausting and the rangers who do this are very special people to do this day in and out. The day went by in a flash and as we all left for home, many of my work mates, although tired, stated that they had really enjoyed themselves and would be very willing to come back in the coming months.”
Joan continued: “As members of RBS we are given a challenge each year to invest our time and talents into the local community as often as we can as part of our community investment programme of which every member of staff is part of. Hopefully we can now add Finlaystone to our list of many organisations we have helped by volunteering our time and talents over the years and will continue to help in the coming months and years.”
Head ranger, David Finnis said: ‘We were very pleased with the tasks undertaken by Joan and her colleagues and by the commitment and enthusiasm shown on the day. We will be delighted when they return in the future for other tasks.”
