POLICE are warning residents after a number of attempted sneak-in thefts in Greenock.
The incidents in the Dunlop Street area involve opportunists gaining access to property through unlocked doors or open windows. These may have been left open because of periods of hot weather.
Sergeant Ian Wood of Greenock Police Office said: “Be aware of who is in your community. Should you see any suspicious people or vehicles, ensure this is reported to the police. These incidents can be quickly checked out and dealt with.”
Any witnesses are urged to contact Greenock Police Office on 01475 492500.
