WEMYSS Bay's Fun-Packed Gala This Weekend
WEMYSS Bay’s fun-packed gala takes place this weekend.
It is a three-day event, running from Friday (8 June), based at the village community centre and grounds.
The first event, on Friday (8 June), is the ladies’ curry karaoke party from 7.30 to 11.30pm. There will be a buffet by Compston Catering and a glass of bubbly on arrival, all for £10.
Other attractions include a range of cocktails prepared by Gordon and Garry from Flava, a nail bar by James Watt College, stand-up bingo and raffle prizes. There is a price freeze on all drinks at the bar which are selling at 2010 prices. For tickets call Bobbie on 529512
The main gala day is on Saturday (9 June) from noon until 6.30pm featuring many activities, events, kids’ rides and entertainment, inflatables, stalls from community groups, and the return of Wemyss Bay's Got Talent. Entry is free.
The Grand Opening is at noon when the crowning of the Gala King and Queen will take place. Attractions will include a giant slide and a mini-fairground.
Wemyss Bay's Got Talent is from 4pm. Application forms are available from the Spar Shop in Wemyss Bay.
Guides will be running the tea room, the cake and candy stall and the coconut shy. Beat the Keeper is being run by the Bible Club and Youth Group.
There will also be dancing and martial arts displays; bouncy castle; licensed bar; face-painting; and Harkie's food van on site all day selling snacks.
Ardgowan Football Development’s Gala Day is on Sunday 10 June from 11am to 3pm with prize-giving and events
More than 200 kids will take part using the grassed area, the 3G pitch and the marquee. Throughout the afternoon, parents and family will have the chance to watch their children display the football skills they have learned over the past year and to see them presented with their certificates and trophies.
