SCOUT Group Coffee Morning -- THE 70th Scout Group are holding a coffee morning in their group headquarters, 159 Finnart Street on Saturday (18 May) from 10am till noon. Tickets are £1 at the door and include tea, coffee, sandwiches and home baking. There will be stalls, a raffle, a quiz, and crafts. All proceeds go to the 70th Scout Group.

MEMORY Lane Movie At Lyle Gateway -- LYLE Gateway are offering a trip down memory lane on Tuesday (21 May). Bert McCready from Mac Movies will be showing a nostalgic film of the area including a quiz focusing on local landmarks. The film will be shown at 11am in Lyle Kirk, Union Street, Greenock (formerly Ardgown Church, opposite the old timber yard) and tea, coffee, soup and filled rolls will be available from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

BROOMHILL Association's AGM -- BROOMHILL Tenants and Residents Association annual general meeting is on Tuesday 4 June at 7pm in Prospecthill Christian Fellowship’s hall in Prospecthill Street, Greenock. The Jericho Boys will be performing a scene from their latest play "Frankie Says Relapse".  Local councillors, police and community wardens are expected to attend. Members of the public will be asked to approve an addition to the constitution stating that no committee member shall hold more than one office-bearer role.

COFFEE Morning For Hospice -- THE Friends of Ardgowan Hospice are holding a coffee morning on Saturday (18 May ) from 10 to 12 o’clock in Westburn Church hall, Nelson Street, Greenock. There will be stalls including home baking. Entry is by donation of £2.

SECOND Clyde Boat Alert -- LARGS Lifeboat was launched to help a small vessel off Meigle, Skelmorlie, which had engine failure and was taking on water late on Saturday afternoon. As the water was not entering quickly it was decided that the vessel could be towed to Largs Yacht Haven where it was made secure. Meanwhile, a lifeboat, from Helensburgh, was sent to the aid of a small cabin cruiser reported in difficulties between Greenock, Helensburgh and Kilcreggan on Friday morning. The vessel was safely escorted to Cardwell Bay, Gourock.

RANKIN Memorial Service -- THE Rankin Memorial Service, for all who have been affected by the death of a baby, takes places at 2pm on Sunday 19 May at Greenock Crematorium. The service will be conducted by Carol Campbell, lead chaplain of Inverclyde Royal Hospital and Father Peter McGarry. Hospital midwives will also be in attendance. SPRING Bling Tabletop Sale -- INVERCLYDE Youth For Christ are holding a spring bling tabletop sale at Greenock Methodist Church, Ardgowan Street on Saturday 25 May, noon to 2pm. Items on sale will include jewellery, shoes, cakes, books, music, accessories and bric-a-brac. Entry is £1.50.

BRASS Band’s Summer Concert -- RIVERSIDE Youth Band's summer concert is on Friday 7 June at 7.30pm in Port Glasgow Town Hall.
