-- PINK Effort Raises Cash
31 October 2009

STAFF from Greenock Jobcentre Plus Benefit Processing Centre and the local Jobcentre got together and raised money in memory of a colleague.

They organised a Pink Day in memory of Janice Thomson, a good friend and colleague who died of breast cancer last year.

Staff paid to dress down in pink – including novel fashion statements such as pink cowboy hats with feather boas and pink police hats!

A pink-themed coffee morning and bring and buy sale proved very popular together with various fund-raising competitions throughout the day.

As well as raising awareness of breast cancer, Jobcentre staff were delighted to discover they had collected a total of £1506.35 which will be divided between Breast Cancer Care and Ardgowan Hospice.
