LOCAL photographers are invited to develop their skills with Greenock Camera Club as it starts a winter season of weekly ‘virtual meetings’ from tomorrow (Thursday).

The get-togethers are being held via WebEx video conferencing technology (similar to Zoom) and are open to the full range of abilities, from experienced photographers to those just starting out and using a phone camera.

Club president Campbell Skinner said: “Despite the ongoing pandemic, the club has managed to meet over the summer months via video conferencing.

“These virtual meetings allow members to chat with others interested in photography, listen to speakers, show their photos, look at other members’ pictures and learn from each other about how to use their camera and how to better edit their images.”

He added: “In these challenging days, there is no better time to improve your photographic skills. Club members are able to share their passion for photography without having to leave their home on cold winter nights.

“It is a great opportunity for local people to get involved in a fun group and help support each other with a common interest in photography.”
