Let's hear from you wherever you are. Tell us what you're doing, what you miss, who you'd like to get in touch with again.....

Hi Greenock, I have just recently returned to United Kingdom, living now in Peterborough, Cambs, from Spain where I lived for 18 years. I would love to get in touch with anyone who remembers me. I attended Loreto Girls' School and worked in Merino Mill and on the "buses" amongst other places.

Hi. I served my apprenticeship as a plater at Greenock Dockyard and worked there until 1973, then emigrated to USA. Retired now, I would be glad to hear from any of my old workmates.

Hi There Greenock. This photo [http://www.inverclydenow.com/popup.htm?upload-files//GalleryPictures/hillend-1942.3.jpg] was taken at Hillend School in East Crawford Street in either 1942 or 1943. I'm guessing that we kids look about 7 or 8 yrs. I am 2nd from the right, back row, and lived at 10 Morton Terrace until 1956. I then spent 3yrs in the Army in Jordan and Cyprus and on demob I moved to Northern Ireland, got married and 12 yrs later made the best move of my life to New Zealand in 1973. I now live in Palm Beach on the idyllic Waiheke Island in Auckland's Waitamata Harbour, which is just a 35 minute ride up to Downtown Auckland. I've had quite a few trips back to the UK and enjoyed a "Dauner thro' the Auld Toon." I also enjoy receiving the Inverclyde Now email every day, keep up the good work. Some of the names on the photo: Tom Steel, James Caldwell, John Potts, Billy Turner, Angus Stirling, Joe Smith, Malcolm McLeod, Billy Clements, Donald McCalman, Billy Steel, David Sinclair, Joe Docherty, Tom Hair, James Fairhurst, Billy Flynn, and the only girl whose name I can remember, Ina Hood. Hope this jolts a few memories in some of the 72 yr olds, probably spread around the world. Here's wishing all in Greenock and all Greenoakians (where ever they may be) a Happy New Year Regards Roy Hegarty PS: Unfortunately I've lost all my curls now
