PostHeaderIcon BUS Operator's Network Expands Again

INVERCLYDE’S biggest bus operator, McGill's, is expanding its local network from the start of 2010 with a new service between Greenock town centre and Larkfield.

The Greenock estate is one of the few areas of the district not already served by McGill’s Buses.

Existing operator Wilson’s Coaches is stopping its service from Greenock to Burns Square at the end of the year.

McGill’s say modern, easy access buses will be introduced on the route which will continue to be operated seven days a week, on a high frequency with similar fares to those charged by Wilson's.

There will be a new pick-up point of Kilblain Street instead of West Stewart Street.

McGill's has steadily increased its share of the Inverclyde market, last year taking over Port Glasgow routes from Slaemuir Coaches.

The company have also introduced frequent services to Glasgow via Inverclyde from Largs plus a route from Dunoon via ferry to Glasgow.
