Inverclyde Now Logo DONATIONS Sought For Gourock Rotary Christmas Appeal

THE Rotary Club of Gourock has launched a Christmas toy appeal.

Members hope indidviduals and businesses will back the effort which has already received generous support from local companies Golden Casket and PG Paper.

President Douglas Brands said: “Covid-19 has destroyed many families’ lives through no fault of their own and we wish to try to help to ease the financial pressure by ensuring a children in this district will not go without this coming Christmas Day.

“We have made it our mission to try to help children and families at Christmas who might otherwise go without presents on this magical day.

“Any member of the public wishing to donate, no matter how much, will be gratefully received.”

The appeal is targeting children who have had to flee with their mothers to avoid domestic abuse.

A target of £2,000 has been set — donations can be made online or into the Rotary Club of Gourock bank account — Sort Code. 83-22-20 / Account Number 00719173

Any spare funds raised will be given to buy food for those in need.
