POLICE in Inverclyde arrested a man who allegedly dialled 999 and hung up more than 150 times in just several days.
Sergeant Jason Logsdon said: “Over the past few weeks, police have received a large number of dropped 999 calls which have allegedly been traced back to a male who was warned and thereafter reported for this behaviour.
“Despite this, he allegedly persisted in dialling 999 and hanging-up with over 150 calls logged over the past few days.”
The 36-year-old from Greenock was charged with misuse of the 999 system and was held in custody to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court.
