21 July, 2020 | Clyde Shipping

GREENOCK Ocean Terminal’s new cruise ship pontoon is taking shape.

The structure will be 200 metres long and will allow the terminal to increase the number of vessels it can handle.

It will be made up of four large watertight containers (caissons), each weighing over 1,000 tonnes.

They have been made at Inchgreen dry dock and are then being towed to the terminal to form the main elements of the floating cruise pontoon.
