POLICE were called to help a support worker after a client allegedly became aggressive.

The worker was transporting a 48-year-old man who was intoxicated, allegedly produced a hammer and refused to leave the car.

Officers responded to the incident in Cathcart Street in Greenock town centre around 12.45pm on Monday.

The man was traced still in the car and arrested for breach of the peace.

He was held in custody to appear at court.
